What Do You Do For Work?
It’s inevitable. Your future engineer, doctor, lawyer, or pint-sized negotiator will ask this question and will want an answer. To help our own employees embrace this question, every year GoEngineer excitedly participates in Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day.
Our offices from Baton Rouge to the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Coast take time out of their busy schedules for their ‘littles’ to come explore, ask questions, and get a hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technology.
Having a variety of job roles at GoEngineer, it was a great opportunity for families local to each of our branches to expose their kids to jobs like:
- Office Management
- Technical Support
- Applications Engineer
- Inside Sales/ Territory Management
- Marketing and More!
From instructing SOLIDWORKS product training classes as an Applications Engineer to providing Technical and 3D Printing Support – the offices were full of inquisitive minds.
If you could 3D print anything in the world, what would it be?
Robots, Shopkins, Candy and live babies were top answers – wait, a real life baby? Can you really 3D print one? Take a look at the photo below and take a guess. Is the baby below real or fake?
When the kid in your life asks you, “What do you do for work?”, answer their question with a trip to the office; just be sure to ask permission first. Not only can you inspire them to be just like you and shed some light on what you do every day, you might even be surprised when you hear – “I want to work here just like you when I grow up. Everything is SO COOL.” – Marley Ortez, Age 8
