CAMWorks Commercial Licenses

CAMWorks can be purchased with a Standalone License (for single use installation) or as a Floating License (for multiple use installation). Let’s review the difference in the two.

CAMWorks Commercial licenses Standalone License

A standalone (or node-locked) license authorizes the use of CAMWorks on a specific computer. The standalone license employs the licensing method of either.

FlexLM Software: Default licensing method used by CAMWorks for generating licenses for both Standalone and Floating licenses via the CAMWorks License Manager.

Hardware Dongle: for activating that license.  Also known as the key or security block.  It is a small hardware device that fits on the USB connector/port of computer.

If no Internet is available, generate a text file from the CAMWorks License Manager > Save or email that text file to another computer that has Internet connectivity > Email the file in an attachment to register@camworks.com > Send the response email back to the original computer and read that text file in. This is ideal for military and/or high security applications.

Number of activations allowed:

  • Standalone license using FlexLM software – One computer.
  • Standalone license using Hardware Dongle – Multiple computers using that individual hardware dongle.
  • CAMWorks license can be transferred from one computer to another with assistance from your Reseller (GoEngineer).

The Floating License

The Floating license is the ideal option for situations where potential CAMWorks users outnumber the available licenses.  CAMWorks can be run simultaneously using Standalone licenses the same way Floating licenses can.

If no Internet is available, generate a text file from the CAMWorks License Manager > Save or email that text file to another computer that has Internet connectivity > Email the file in an attachment to register@camworks.com > Send the response email back to the original computer and read that text file in. This is ideal for military and/or high security applications.

  • Purchased licenses are shared over the network.
  • Must be able to ping the CAMWorks License Manager on that server.
  • CAMWorks License Manager can be transferred from one computer to another with assistance from your Reseller (GoEngineer).
