In SOLIDWORKS PDM, when a file is released, the version that is released is stamped with the revision. If desired, this version that is linked to the latest revision can be shown on the face of the drawing. Note that if both the drawing and the model the drawing references are released, then they'll each have their own released version. Notifications in the vault alert users to different conditions in SOLIDWORKS PDM. This article explains the different types of notifications and how to set them up. It will also discuss how notifications are delivered to the user (whether in PDM or via email). When testing Notifications, PDM will not send a notification to the person who initiated an action. If you are sending a notification to the PDM admin, then log in as a different user to test sending the notification. Then, log back into the vault view as the PDM admin to see if they received it.
