SOLIDWORKS MBD Tutorial - Real World Example

This is a one-hour real world “live” video recording where I use SOLIDWORKS Model-Based-Definition, (MBD) to duplicate the same information put on a traditional orthographic view drawing. My goal was to add all the necessary Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) information and additional notes and dimensions to “mimic” the multi-sheet drawing used to manufacture a precision part. I show the steps required for using “Dimexpert” to add 3D dimensions and GD&T, (renamed in SOLIDWORKS 2020 to MBD Dimensions), to capture 3D views correctly. I show how the Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) can be published to an advanced PDF file or simply shared by using the SOLIDWORKS original part file. I also cover relevant settings you should know about that are not usually set “out-of-the-box” or by default. I hope you enjoy some of my tips and tricks along the way!
