Tasks automatically create format neutral files that can be shared. These are files like PDF, step or iges files. These tasks can be run on the computer on which the task was initiated. If this is the Engineer’s computer, then it wastes his time as he cannot do anything while the task runs. If this is a Document Control person’s computer, then their computer must have SOLIDWORKS and PDM installed and be a CAD level computer. By creating a computer to specifically run these tasks, the Engineer is not wasting time waiting for the task to complete and the Doc Control person does not need a CAD level computer.
