Large Assembly Performance with 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA, CATIA V5, and SOLIDWORKS

In this webinar we are going to compare some of the differences and similarities between 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, and CATIA V5. We’ve always been told that CATIA is built for these larger datasets and we’ve personally seen client assemblies of 30k and 60k components, which can sometimes take over an hour to open on a local machine in SOLIDWORKS, so let’s see if this is true!! When dealing with large assemblies there are a lot of factors that go into making them slow, so we will be taking a subset of these and exploring which software systems excel and some of our thoughts as to why. The criteria we have chosen are Open Times, Save Times, Graphics, and then finally rebuild times. We have an assembly with 8,120 solid bodies with 3,099 unique components that we will be putting thru a fair comparison between 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, and CATIA V5, so please join us as we dig into these software’s and which might best be a fit for you!!

All benchmarks were made on the same machine, which is a Dell Precision 7560, i7-11850H @2.5GHz 2.5GHz, 64GB RAM, 2TB Samsung 980 SSD, NVIDIA RTX A3000 Graphics Card (v 31.0.15.1789), and running Windows 11.
