SOLIDWORKS has patterning tools at both the feature and sketch level. This video goes over the linear pattern tool at the sketch level and shows the various ways that it can be used including fully dimensioning the patterns, enabling modification of the pattern at a later time, and customizing the directions of the pattern. SOLIDWORKS sketches are needed to create any 3D part in the program and are the most basic building block in the creation process. Through the proper utilization of sketch tools, the sketching process can be streamlined allowing you to spend more time on other tasks and can allow others more insight into understanding your own personal design processes.
