SOLIDWORKS PDM Tutorial - Breaking In Context references to Files Outside the Vault

In this video, I show how to break in-context relations that are preventing check-in of an assembly into SOLIDWORKS PDM. In-context relationships can be very useful, especially in the beginning of a design. The ability to change one part and have matching parts update can save a lot of time. However, if any of these parts are used in other assemblies then those in-context relationships can cause problems. With PDM, there is a setting that can prevent files that have references to files outside of PDM from being checked in. If this is set and the in-context assembly is still outside of PDM, then any assembly that references a part from that assembly will be prevented from being checked in. Breaking those references is the fastest way to allow check-in of the assembly and parts.
