SOLIDWORKS Tips and Tricks — Basic Animations

Animations are very important in showing your designs in SOLIDWORKS. They allow the user to clearly show parts, assemblies, sketches, drawings, and other features effectively and communicate design intent.
The purpose of this video is to explain the basics of motion study features for both 3D models and sketches in manipulating cameras, lighting, and dimensional changes of sketches.

COMMON ERRORS:

If you are having trouble moving lights and cameras, remember that the properties tab must be opened for the corresponding light or camera in order to modify any property of the component, including position and intensity.
Also, while doing a motion study of a sketch, don’t forget to keep the sketch open during the motion study. If the sketch is not open and editable during your motion study, the motion study will not successfully animate your sketch.
