The new tools in parts and features with SOLIDWORKS 2022 offer some great opportunities to improve our design processes that I'm sure you will find very valuable. In SOLIDWORKS 2022, working with mesh bodies is just like working with native SOLIDWORKS geometry. Using convenient hybrid modeling, we can create chamfers, extrusions, cuts and reference geometry, just like we would on native files. Creating bi-directional draft has always been a multi-step process in SOLIDWORKS. In 2022, when using the parting line options we can create a bi-directional draft within a single feature!
Additionally, SOLIDWORKS 2022 has an enhancement to our section view options! We can specify a section view using cylindrical geometry to get greater control over what our views should look like. When creating external threads these can produce incredibly complex geometry. Also in SOLIDWORKS 2022, there is a new Stud Wizard feature that provides a list of standard thread size and pitch to use for our part. In addition, we have options to create an undercut with full control over the feature parameters.
