In 3DEXPERIENCE, a dashboard displays content and resources for any topic or activity you are a part of in your company. Every dashboard is made up of Tabs that contain Widgets/Apps that are used to perform different tasks. The Widgets/Apps listed in each of these tabs depend on what Roles you have access to.

Having a central location where all data is securely stored with history, shared, and approved can make the difference between an engineering design process that works and one that doesn’t. For SOLIDWORKS (and CATIA) users, Dassault Systèmes offers two first-party data management solutions: the on-premise SOLIDWORKS PDM and the on-cloud 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Both solutions handle SOLIDWORKS files well, but each has its unique strengths. This article explains some technical differences between SOLIDWORKS PDM vs 3DEXPERIENCE CLOUD PDM to help you decide which product is right for you.

3DEXPERIENCE has two easy ways to upload existing SOLIDWORKS files into a 3DEXPERIENCE cloud tenant. Both solutions do only the latest version of the file, so you won’t have version history for the initially migrated data. Instead, you’ll have every file set as the system’s initial revision, typically A. The two upload methods are: Bulk load tool and EDAT FTK (file-based transfer). The processes have some similarities in what they do and how they do it, but there are some important differences between them.

Issue Management on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is a central location to create and manage issues. In it, you can create issues and attach models, drawings, or anything else you may store on the platform. You can also assign users to issues, suggest resolutions, add comments, and visualize their history. Check out how Issue Management makes it easier for you to track potential problems and resolutions all in one place.

Over the weekend, Dassault Systemes released the latest version of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, 2023x FD02. With it, we see lots of enhancements to everything from the Welcome Dashboard, to Project Planner, and even Standard Part Management. With several improvements to the system, the latest version of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform promises to be the best release yet.

One of the biggest (and most common) challenges companies face is properly managing data and information. Whether it's siloed information or simply not knowing where to look, a reliable and secure data management process is essential. 3DEXPERIENCE 2023x is officially out and includes many data management improvements, including new tools, dashboards, and more.

Thousands of customers, from startups and innovation laboratories to manufacturers and engineering services, have adopted the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to securely connect stakeholders with their data (and each other) in a product lifecycle ecosystem. Even companies with existing IT departments are looking for alternatives to the high total cost of ownership in setting up their data management system with the ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and administration of the hardware and software required.
