Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) is a 3D printing technology that utilizes fiber optic lasers to micro-weld fine metal powder to generate a solid metal part. In this article, see how we created a custom hat using 316 Stainless Steel on an XM200G Xact Metal 3D printer and a custom press die to aid in the process. This project was completed in five hours, including printing the parts and assembly.
