SOLIDWORKS Delivery Day 2025 FD02 brings a variety of enhancements across SOLIDWORKS, 3DEXPERIENCE, and Visualize aimed at boosting productivity, improving workflows, and enhancing user experience. From command search improvements to smarter integration with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, 2025 FD02 offers plenty of reasons to get excited. Let’s dive into the highlights.
Command search, accessed by pressing the “S” key or using the search bar, has been around for a while. You can create custom tags for your commands to use in command search, which is helpful if you have a hard time remembering command names or tend to think of different names first. For example, when exporting STL files, you might think of “STL,” but the actual command name is “export.” You can add a tag, like “STL”, to the export command so that when you search for “STL,” the export command is suggested. This isn’t new. The update here is that some commands now come pre-populated with search term tags. Remember, you can still customize these tags.

If SOLIDWORKS Connected cannot connect to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, it can launch in offline mode without prior setup. This is especially useful for users who lose internet connection unexpectedly, allowing them to continue working.
Users can now toggle the display of property text expressions in title blocks to quickly see the information linked to the title block, such as “Drawn By” or “Drawing Number.” This is helpful for quickly checking where the title block is sourcing its information. Cut lists can now be customized in the Document Settings to ensure consistency in elements like units within your weldment table. This option is in the Weldment section of the Document Properties, allowing you to make the change once and save it to your template.
This update allows users to quickly sketch squares. Start by using the rectangle sketch tool and hold down the Shift key. This will automatically apply equal length relations to the sides of the rectangle, forming a square.

Several commands can already be pinned if the user intends to use a command multiple times in a row and wants to keep the feature dialog box open. In this update, the Fillet and Chamfer commands can now also be pinned.
Design table column headers now support auto-translation, which is helpful for teams or vendors who speak different languages.
When expanding lightweight components in the FeatureManager Design Tree, a new setting allows users to prevent components from resolving automatically. This gives users more control over exactly when components are resolved.
In routing, clips can now be generated from assemblies, making it easier to use more complex clip designs. Previously, you would need to use a workaround, such as saving the assembly as a multibody part.
“Whatever clip you've got, you can use it." – Jesse Sprague, Industry Process Consultant, Dassault Systèmes

Smart components are now supported in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, allowing users to drag in components with predefined features and dependencies directly from the platform. See this new feature in action below.
The first row in Revision Tables can now be locked to stay visible when limiting the number of rows shown.
3DEXPERIENCE integration within SOLIDWORKS now includes rules that control how configurations map to physical products. This allows users to manage the settings at a global level instead of on a case-by-case basis. See how it works below.
Save As is now available for configurations, allowing users to save configurations as new parts to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The Recent Documents menu can now be filtered by platform for 3DEXPERIENCE files.
When a user edits a file that is under a change action, SOLIDWORKS now prompts the user with the reason why the file cannot be saved.
Comments can now be added when saving to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to better document why a change was made.
Change revisions can now be incremented using different schemes based on a component’s lifecycle phase. For example, numbers can be used for prototyping revisions, and letters for production revisions.
Scene Elements is a new feature in SOLIDWORKS Visualize that randomizes the position and scale of props to create a more natural appearance, allowing users to set up scenes that look more believable. For example, items on a desk can be arranged to appear more randomly placed. Users can click through randomized options until they find one they like, then adjust it as needed.
