Standards. Every company has them to set an expected level of quality. In SOLIDWORKS, we create our models and drawings to ANSI, ISO, or other standards. Files are translated through standardized formats, which is easy to accomplish as these standards are maintained by governing bodies and are integrated.

One of my favorite aspects of the Formlabs Fuse 1+ 30W SLS 3D printer is the design freedom that comes from using loose powder as a natural support structure. But once I’ve excavated my parts from a finished build, I’m left with a crucial question: what do I do with all the unsintered powder? Formlabs has designed the Fuse 1+ 30W to work with a mixture of fresh and reclaimed powder.

When running Stratasys FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printers — especially in professional industrial environments — efficient post-processing is essential for achieving clean, accurate, and repeatable parts. One of the greatest advantages of Stratasys 3D printers is their ability to print with Soluble Support materials such as SR-30, SR-35, SR-100, SR-110, and QSR, allowing for a hands-free cleaning process. To this end, the Oryx sca1200ht is one of the simplest and most user-friendly tools available for FDM post-processing.

When a sketch in SOLIDWORKS is fully defined, it means that all the necessary dimensions and relations are in place. Fully defined sketch entities can't be modified when editing or creating other sketch entities. This makes the model more predictable and gives each sketch entity a controlled size and location. One quick way to do this is to use the Fully Define Sketch tool.

Simulating electrically large and highly complex structures is a challenging task due to the high aspect ratio between the smallest details and the overall calculation domain. Analyzing these multi-scale problems can be time-consuming and can demand substantial computational resources if you use a single numerical method (Brute force method). A more efficient way to perform a system-level electromagnetic analysis is to divide the large problem into sub-domains.
