Reset A Lost PDM Admin Password: SOLIDWORKS Quick Tip

The first step to reset a lost PDM admin password is to remove registry keys. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Log into the archive server as a local system administrator.
  2. Open Windows Regedit.
  3. Delete Admin user in the following keys if it exists: 

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\Applications\PDMWorks Enterprise\ArchiveServer\ConisioUser 

    and 

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolidWorks\Applications\PDMWorks Enterprise\ArchiveServer\Vaults\[vault]\ConisioUsers.

  4. Open the Archive Server Configuration tool.
  5. If you are using the global admin login for your vault, select Tools/Default Settings… (If using vault specific admin password right-click on the vault name and select properties).

  6. Under Login Tab/Admin user, select password.

  7. Leave the current password blank, and enter the new password and again to confirm.
