Today we explore the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as a system of operations.
Today the Executive Vice President of R&D at Dassault Systemes Florence Hu-Aubigny takes the stage for a deep dive of the 3DEXPERIENCE App. The App can be accessed on Tablet, PC, or Phone.
The 3DEXPERIENCE app will empower you with full web-based utility. Leverage the app for efficient design and machine capabilities. We can connect our knowledge and know how of the industry and transform design challenges into sustainable innovation. The compass will be there to find you the right solution.
Next, platform leaders take the stage to walk us through the app.
The story begins with a goal for Debbie to create an automated lawnmower, seeing her robot vacuum as an inspiration. She takes a picture and shares it with her colleagues on the platform. Concepts are shared and feedback is returned in real time. Decisions on product development can be made faster with the ease of collaboration on the platform with the help of projects, tasks, and timelines, giving the organization transparency. Aaron says, “Design on your own terms. Any time. Anywhere. On any device.”
More app demonstrations revealed intelligent recognition and transformation of touch screen movements into geometric entities – now this is a game-changer!
Next, we look at running a crash test using SIMULIA and DELMIA to request a part quote from a manufacturer. Xometry is the first prime partner to offer instant quoting and quality parts right from the platform.
Injy Gadalla wrapped up the session with a customer panel to talk about the diversity of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The panel included the following SOLIDWORKS customers:
- Mikael Kajbring, Awake Boards
- Brad Thompson, Impact Props
- Chetan Keny, Rize
- Mustafa Tulu, Enis Caldir, WatchX
I found WatchX to be particularly interesting. WatchX brings innovation experience to their customers. Their product is a watch, but it arrives disassembled. The end user assembles the watch and also optionally customizes the case.

Tuesday night was the big event, where they blocked off Broadway between 4th and 5th street. It was cold and rainy, but that didn’t stop the crowd from attending. There were tons of rooftops filled with people, loud GOOD music, and it was easy to explore all of the venues. I discovered silent disco, chatted with old friends, and connected with new friends. The music was perfect at every stop, yet still diversified in talent, and the night ended in our hotel lobby with a stack of 12 hot pizzas. Can it be more perfect?
