Nominal Wall Thickness Adviser  

Used to analyze part wall thickness and display thickness ratios.

A dense library of material options, including some from the world’s most recognized suppliers. Also included are all of the relevant material properties needed for the analysis.

Displays the maximum pressure to fill the cavity.

Meshing

Built-in automated discretization of your geometry.

Flow Front Temperature

Displays the plastic melt front temperature history.

Parallel Computing (Multi-core)

The 3D solver takes advantage of multi-core (multi-thread) computing.

Temperature at End of Fill

Cavity temperature scale at the end of the fill.

Filling Phase (1st Stage Injection)

Analysis predicts how the material flows in the mold cavity. Results will show fill time and pressure distribution and indicate short shots, weld lines, and air traps.

Shear Rate

Display of the shear rate scale to check for excessive polymer shear and process quality.

Automatic Gate Location(s)

Let the software suggest optimum gate location(s) or choose them manually if you prefer.

Cooling Time

Estimate of part cooling time in fill time analysis.

Instantaneous Fill Time Plot

Predicts the flow pattern based on a selected gate location. This is useful for initial injection location placement.

Weld Lines

Reveal where two flow lines might meet, flagging areas for potential cosmetic flaws, and impacted material integrity.

Sink Mark Analysis

Predicts the depth and location of sink marks on the molded part.

Air Traps

Predicts the depth and location of sink marks on the molded part.

eDrawings Support

Capability to export results to eDrawings file.

Sink Marks

Sink marks are indentations caused by poor cooling in non-uniform thickness regions. Identify problem areas before it’s too late.

Fill Time

This is the time to fill the entire mold cavity or cavities.

Frozen Layer Fraction at End of Fill

Displays the frozen (solidified) material in the cavity at the end of the fill.

Ease of Fill

Displays a confidence of fill legend.

Clamp Force

The calculated force required to keep the mold closed during the injection process.

Cycle Time

The time for a complete injection molding cycle.

Yes, with the use of duplicate study and the batch manager, you can setup multiple studies and choose to run them in a batch. While the batch analysis is running, SOLIDWORKS can be shut down and the solver will continue to run.
