Embedded Display

Unlike other handheld scanners that tether the operator to a nearby laptop or workstation, the HandySCAN EVO puts a full graphical interface directly on the device. Operators can monitor scan coverage, adjust parameters, and confirm data completeness without ever breaking eye contact with the part.

Integrated Photo Documentation

The HandySCAN EVO overlays live mesh generation and color-mapped deviation data directly onto the part as you scan, using its built-in AR capability to show operators in real time exactly where more resolution or attention is needed.

Paired with an integrated photo camera, teams can capture visual documentation of the inspection process and automatically link those photos to the corresponding 3D model.

True Shop-Floor Freedom

For industries like oil & gas and heavy manufacturing, where parts are often too large or too immovable to bring into a lab, the HandySCAN EVO allows untethered access. The EVO Series introduces an embedded graphical display, augmented reality capability, an integrated photo camera, and wireless operation, features not found on previous HandySCAN generations. These additions are layered on top of the same metrology-grade accuracy and self-positioning technology that Creaform scanners are known for, resulting in a scanner built for both efficiency and precision. 
Depending on the model in the EVO Series, accuracy ranges from 0.020 mm to 0.025 mm, with performance based on the ISO 10360 standard and accredited under ISO/IEC 17025. This makes the HandySCAN EVO suitable for regulated industries where measurement traceability and documented accuracy are non-negotiable requirements. 
No. The HandySCAN EVO is designed to handle a wide range of surface finishes and part geometries without extensive preparation, thanks in part to features like automatic shutter optimization that adjusts for difficult or reflective surfaces during the scan itself. 
Common applications include product development and design, reverse engineering, quality control and quality assurance, and dimensional inspection of parts ranging from small precision components to large industrial equipment. 

Yes. Because the scanner is self-positioning and wireless, it doesn't require a fixed setup, external tracking arm, or lab environment to deliver accurate results. Operators can scan large or awkwardly shaped parts (e.g., tanks, piping, sheet metal assemblies, etc.) directly where they sit, without compromising data quality.
