Default SOLIDWORKS File Locations
Often a SOLIDWORKS user will have the wrong file location paths for an installation of SOLIDWORKS, which can cause the program to either fail or produce ineffective behavior. This article provides a clearly defined outline of the referenced paths that SOLIDWORKS requires to perform correctly.
Where to Find File Locations
- File locations are defined by navigating to SOLIDWORKS Options
- Navigate to File Locations under System Options
Changing the File Location
- You will see a drop-down list inside of File Locations that will allow you to choose which file location you would like to define
- Select the file location you wish to change and you will then see a path that defines the location
- You may either Add or Delete the file path(s) of your choice.
Note: You may have to close SOLIDWORKS to save the options and file location(s)
