In this video I show how to move the Reference or CAD in Creaform’s VX Inspect Software. Although it’s somewhat of a rare occurrence, sometimes the Reference is located out in space far from the Origin. This can happen sometimes if the file is referencing the part in an Assembly state where it’s using the Assembly’s origin instead of the local part’s origin. I demonstrate why if you do an alignment to the Reference out in space, the dimensions are “3D” and not in X,Y, or Z. This is not desirable. Through the Reference menu I show moving the CAD to the origin, performing a new alignment and taking proper dimensions in X, Y, or Z.
