Article by Lindsay Morrison on Sep 19, 2025

This guide explains how to properly activate SWOOD Design, CAM, and Nesting standalone licenses to use with SOLIDWORKS.

Configuration Requirements

  • SWOOD is compatible with the last 2 years of SOLIDWORKS versions. For example, SWOOD 2024 would be compatible with SOLIDWORKS 2022 until SOLIDWORKS 2024.
  • SWOOD is compatible with Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit operating systems.
  • Graphics card certified by SOLIDWORKS.
  • 8GB of RAM minimum.
  • A screen resolution of 1280x1024 at minimum.
  • Hard Drive: 5GB available, including 1GB on the local C: Drive.

  1. After installing the software, launch SOLIDWORKS.
  2. The Activation Manager should automatically pop up on the screen.  If it doesn't, go to Tools > SWOOD Design (or CAM) > Help > Activate Licenses.

Troubleshooting

  1. If you are activating SWOOD for the first time, or during an update of SWOOD with a year version, you might receive a pop-up like the one below, or with a different ID (-3, -5, -9).

In this situation, it is suggested to try the activation at least 2 more times.
  2. If you receive the message Cannot connect to the activation server, you may need to allow access.
    1. Solution 1: Create an exception in the firewall for IP address 82.127.168.94 corresponding to the domain activation@eficad.com
    2. Solution 2: Add the hostname in the DNS server (Example shown here: https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7-hosts-file/ )
