In the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Thumbnail is a useful column that can be added to the Bookmark Editor app. Since the July 2025 platform update, adding this column, as well as many others, to the Bookmark Editor has changed slightly. So, let’s look at how to add these special columns.
After the July 2025 update, you must create a custom view (rather than the default view) to add any special columns other than the default columns.
To create a custom view, right-click on the column header and go to Table Preferences.
You'll likely be using the Default view from the dropdown list.
Use the “+” sign to create a new view.
The newly created view will automatically be named Copy of Default view.
Change the name to something more meaningful, and hit the checkmark next to the box.
Now, you will be presented with the Available Columns and Selected Columns screen.
Look through all of the categories of Available Columns and find what you would like to add, or use the magnifying glass to search for a column.
In this case, thumbnail.
The thumbnail column is located under the Common Attributes category/grouping.
Select Thumbnail and then use the right-pointing arrow button to add it to Selected Columns.
Drag and drop the thumbnail column to wherever in the order of columns that you would like to see it (or use the up/down arrows at the top of the Selected Columns list). Optionally, pin the column so it remains in view when side scrolling.
Hit Save.
In this example, I added the Thumbnail column just after the Title and used the Pin Left option.
You should be in your newly created view and see the Thumbnail column now.
If you want to switch between views (default or others you create), right-click on the column headers and go to Table Views.
So, that's the new way to add the very valuable “Thumbnail” column (and many others) to your Bookmark Editor view!
