In SOLIDWORKS PDM, when a file is released, the version that is released is stamped with the revision. If desired, this version that is linked to the latest revision can be shown on the face of the drawing. Note that if both the drawing and the model the drawing references are released, then they'll each have their own released version. This article explains how to show both of these values on the face of the released drawing.
Isight provides designers, engineers, and researchers with an open system for integrating design and simulation models (created with various CAD, CAE, and other software applications) to automate the execution of simulations for design exploration and optimization. The software solution can easily create an approximation model for any task or individual application component - from any source of simulation or test result data.
As we know, every year, SOLIDWORKS releases a new version with hundreds of new features and functionalities. From innovative new functionalities to all-new product offerings, this blog post will put you in a time machine and take you on a journey through the history of SOLIDWORKS.
The SOLIDWORKS Rx tool is a robust diagnostic tool used by GoEngineer and SOLIDWORKS Tech Support teams. It helps to quickly record, log, and diagnose issues with the SOLIDWORKS suite of software.
In SOLIDWORKS, using a Sketch Picture can be a helpful way to capture design intent; it allows you to trace your design over a reference image. The Enable Scale Tool option allows the image size to be adjusted to match a reference dimension, using a Scale Tool and numeric input. This article describes this process and how it affects SOLIDWORKS' Zoom to Fit view function.
When working in CAD environments like SOLIDWORKS or 3DEXPERIENCE, you may see terms like CAD Families, Physical Products, and Representations. These concepts are connected, and understanding how they work together can help engineers, designers, and manufacturers manage their data more effectively.
By utilizing Markforged additive technology, companies are moving bits, not atoms. Instead of shipping a physical piece of steel across the continent, they are sending a secure digital file to a printer located right on the shop floor or inside a mobile maintenance container.
Engineering teams tasked with creating new and innovative amusement park rides often face a difficult challenge: how can we make the ride faster, lighter, and safer while minimizing costs and improving sustainability? That’s exactly what Extreme Manufacturing Engineering (EME) set out to achieve through its groundbreaking collaboration with Bright Laser Technologies (BLT). Using additive manufacturing, they were able to design and produce a roller coaster bogie unlike anything ever seen before.
