3DEXPERIENCE Design Jun 16, 2026

If you’ve ever collaborated in SOLIDWORKS, you may already know the Pack and Go tool. Packages on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform work in much the same way, letting you combine all CAD files referenced in an assembly into a compressed folder that can be easily shared outside your organization. Learn how to use the Import and Export Package tools, common pitfalls with Pack and Go, how to resolve cache issues using V6 files, and how to replace geometry with the Replace Content feature for supplier updates.

SOLIDWORKS CAD Jun 12, 2026

I recently designed this Han's Halo Dual Monitor Riser to complement my home workstation setup. But how am I ever going to print this on my small 3D printer? In this blog, I'll detail the process I used to split large models into smaller chunks. This design is over 30 in in length, which certainly can't be printed inside my printer's usable volume of ~ 10" x 10" x 10". But with a little bit of planning, I'm sure I can get there.

SOLIDWORKS PDM Jun 11, 2026

When working with SOLIDWORKS PDM, it is sometimes necessary to recreate the local vault view. While the instructions to create the vault view are covered in any number of articles, most of them do not cover the removal of a faulty view that is necessary before you can re-add it. The goal of this article is to provide a linear path through this process and the various scenarios you might run into along the way.

SOLIDWORKS relies on the settings in the default drawing template to control Flat Pattern DXF and DWG exports. If bend lines are not visible in the default drawing template, they will not be included in the exported DXF or DWG files (even if Bend Lines is checked in the DXF/DWG Output PropertyManager). This article explains how to verify that your drawings template options are configured correctly to achieve the best Flat Pattern results.

SWOOD Jun 08, 2026

Material costs remain one of the most volatile variables in cabinet manufacturing. While many shops focus on buying faster machines or adding labor to increase throughput, one of the most overlooked opportunities for savings sits earlier in the process: how parts are nested before they ever reach the CNC. SWOOD Nesting is a robust and practical tool that helps cabinet manufacturers consistently reduce sheet usage, improve machine efficiency, and gain better control over production.

It is time we bid farewell to both adaptive meshing methods. SOLIDWORKS 2026 will be the last version to include them.

SOLIDWORKS PDM Jun 04, 2026

In SOLIDWORKS PDM, options control what you see in the user interface. These are set under the Settings dialog. There are a couple of ways to access this dialog. But, regardless of how you get there, SOLIDWORKS PDM saves these settings with the user account. Furthermore, these settings do NOT change when a user changes groups. In this way, these settings don’t act like other folder or state permissions.

The data structure of SOLIDWORKS Drawings, along with company best practices, can make it challenging to properly highlight and define parts and subassemblies. This article will guide detailers through a pair of strategies and guidance on automating these tips.

CST Studio Suite May 28, 2026

The CST Studio Suite Waveguide and Discrete S-parameter ports are excited using one watt peak power. However, designers do not always use one watt as the input power level. Scaling simulation results to match the actual design can be achieved in a few different ways.
