SOLIDWORKS Electrical Nov 25, 2025

When SOLIDWORKS Electrical is first installed, the Manufacturer Parts Library includes a collection of manufacturer parts inside the database. This is intended as a starting set of parts. Not every user will want all of these, and some will want more. Often, there is a need to share manufacturer parts. You may want to have a common set of parts that are used in projects created or modified at other locations. To facilitate this, we can use the archive and unarchive tools in the Manufacturer Parts Library Manager.

SOLIDWORKS Visualize Nov 24, 2025

SOLIDWORKS Visualize supports native GPU acceleration on AMD hardware (RDNA™ 2 and newer) using the 3DS Stellar Fast rendering mode, Visualize’s interactive ray tracing engine based on Stellar RealtimeGI. Previously, if you used SOLIDWORKS Visualize on a computer with AMD GPUs, you had to use the AMD Radeon™ ProRender rendering engine. This change streamlines the user experience and reinforces native AMD hardware support.

3DEXPERIENCE Design Nov 21, 2025

As Fibonacci Day approached this year and I mulled over what to challenge myself to model, I arrived at an interdisciplinary objective: to create a conceptual architectural model inspired by something found in nature - the nautilus seashell. This cross-section of structural design and nature is known as biomimetic architecture, whose formal definition is the practice of designing buildings and structures by imitating processes and forms from nature.

SOLIDWORKS CAD Nov 21, 2025

Network drives are a common solution for engineering teams to collaborate. They can be a convenient solution for organizations attempting to centralize their data. Operating from a network drive, however, is about the worst way to access SOLIDWORKS data, and teams using network drives are leaving performance on the table.

When it comes to home projects, I never really know how much paint, stain, or primer to get. I usually end up buying a gallon, using what I need, and then just storing the rest. After a few years in storage, it becomes too old and ends up at the recycling center. This is how I came up with the idea of using sensors in SOLIDWORKS to calculate the amount of paint/stain I would need for any new home project.  For this blog, I’m going to use a section of railing, but I imagine this would also work great on an entire deck, a room in my house, the entire house itself, or even a part that I am manufacturing.

SOLIDWORKS PDM Nov 20, 2025

Efficient engineering is built on a foundation of collaboration, version control, and the ability to manage data seamlessly across teams and tools. SOLIDWORKS Product Data Management (PDM) stands out as a comprehensive solution that helps overcome common challenges, such as misplaced files, outdated versions, or workflow bottlenecks. As engineering teams face increasingly complex projects, adopting robust systems like SOLIDWORKS PDM becomes essential for maintaining high performance. Below, we’ll walk through key benefits, use cases, and features of SOLIDWORKS PDM.

SOLIDWORKS CAM Nov 19, 2025

2026 is a big year for CAM. We’re seeing not just enhancements to our existing partners, SOLIDWORKS, CAMWorks, and DELMIA, but a recent partner we brought into the fold: SWOOD. Let’s take a look at what's new.

SOLIDWORKS Training Nov 18, 2025

The Massachusetts Workforce Training Express Program provides businesses with 100 or fewer Massachusetts employees the chance to increase their employees’ SOLIDWORKS skills with fast, simple access to grant-funded training – up to $20,000 per company each calendar year.

SOLIDWORKS Training Nov 18, 2025

Pennsylvania’s WEDnetPA Program gives companies the chance to improve the SOLIDWORKS skill level of their employees for free with available grant funds. Businesses in the program are reimbursed up to $2,000 per employee to cover the cost of eligible training courses, such as GoEngineer SOLIDWORKS Training.
